I'm new but a I suspect you already figured that out. :) So, why am I here? Well, firstly because I'm a grad student and this semester...is...killing me! OMG, I have so many papers to write and projects to work on and things to do, not to mention going to my real job, and dealing with the things that constitute daily life in America. So, how do I cope with this? I waste time on the internet and procrastinate until I convince myself I absolutely must get something done. Pretty cool, huh? And secondly, I'm the kind of person, and I'm at a point in my life, where I'm constantly turning over my beliefs in my head. As scientist, I believe that there is a certain way the universe works and there's not really anything particularly mystical about it, but at the same time believe that there are things that are beyond the ability of science to quantify such as the existance of divinity or the soul or whatever. For the sake of conveinence, I call myself a pagan, simply because I participate in the culture and social rituals of neo-paganism and I enjoy the focus on the natural world and the tolerance of other people's beliefs, which jives quite well with my being an anthropologist and a big fan of cultural relativism and all. But I also spend a great deal of time mulling over what it means that my particular beliefs about the universe don't actually require a god or anything particularly supernatural to work...yet I still believe in, admittedly irrationally, the existance of the soul and spiritual evolution. So, that's why I'm here, to see what you people think. :) With that out of the way, Hi! How are you?

THE PURPOSE OF LIFE - WHERE MAN CAME FROM

As you look at our Solar System, you see that the planets are in pairs of smilar sized spheres.
Earth and Venus are almost the same size, Jupiter and Saturn are similar in size
as is Uranus and Neptune. But when you look at Mars, it only has the Meteor Belt.
What happened to the Planet that was probably there. The Scientists say that there
is not enough Mass to make up a Planet out of the Meteors and Comets there.
What happened to the rest of the Planet is a Mystery that may be answered here.
The Bible says that there was war in the heavens (Space).

About 20 Billion years ago Two Energy Beings, The Creators, with their vast accumulated
knowledge decided to create other beings like themselves. The Creators started
with simpler energy beings of lesser qualities until they finally created a
being similar to themselves full of wisdom and knowledge. His name was Lucifer.

As time progressed the millions of created beings helped in discovering and
creating vast star making structures made out of swirling gas that would compact
that gas into balls of burning gas of tremendous size that we call stars. Over
millions of years many of these stars cooled as the Hydrogen burned
and the Helium, under immense pressure, formed Carbon, Nickle and Iron Molecules
which compressed and formed planets.

Millions of energy beings studied these planets to see what could be created out of the chemicals
that were formed there. Over millions of years they formed physical life on the planets.
The Creators made specialized beings to examin and to monitor
and test the development of the dinosaurs and other animals on the Earth.

Lucifer persuaded many of his followers that he should rule the Universe
and Lucifer took his Army and tried to take over control of the Universe
by attacking the Creators.
In the war that ensued the sister planet close to the planet Mars was destroyed.
The massive explosion blew everything off of Mars including all the atmosphere and
the water which flew off into space and accumulated on the other planets of Jupiter and Saturn.
Large pieces of the broken planet traveled throughout the solar system causing
havoc and destruction.
Huge Asteroids pummelled Earth and pushed the flat ground into large mountain ranges
and formed deep craters.
The Earth was moved off its axis and the poles melted. Where there had been rivers
and streams, there were now Oceans. and seas. Everything was under water and it
stayed that way for millions of years.

Lucifer was defeated and imprisoned along with his Army on the planet Earth.
-
The Creators now had a Problem.

What were they going to do if the other beings decided to Rebel too ?

So, The Creators went off to another Solar System and made another being.
After millions of years of Genetic Engineering and development of these physical beings
in a balanced environment, the Creators worked out a plan.
Because Lucifer Rebelled and wanted to Rule the physical Universe and the Angels,
they gave him physical beings to Rule over.
The Creators gave the physical beings a choice either to follow them or Lucifer.

After absorbing Lucifers Spiritl, the people were mentally similar to Lucifer's mindset
and kept drifting away from The Creators rules.
For many years the physical beings suffered and died on this Earth
because Lucifer influenced them to go to war with each other.
Later, The Creators later gave the physical beings who wanted to follow them, another
Mental Energy to help them fight and overcome their evil Mindset.
Their Reward for Overcoming would be Immortality and Membership in The Creators
Universal Government.

It is almost time for The Creators to come back to this Earth and take over and
put Lucifer and his Army into Prison where they belong and to teach the physical beings
the Right Way to Live and to change them from physical beings into Energy Beings
and make them a part of The Creators Government of Peace.

Hello Bama...I'll hold off on getting into the interesting implications of spirit sans origin point for now...at least until it seems as likely you mean to have a dialogue or two as it does that you were merely up late one night and thought "why not?"

One post and then silence for a couple of days or so does tend to make me wonder.

Have you read much of Lewis? Peck? Kung? :e4e:

Hey kid, you need to set your ducks in order! Stop fooling around with this pagan nonsense and start cracking those books and get those papers written. What do want to do? If you fool around you will not finish graduate school, then where will you be? If you want to be an anthropologist, you need to finish a doctorate, or you are just another college graduate with 16 years of school, that will get you a job selling cars, or managing a store. I was a starry-eyed English major, who graduated with a double major in English and Psychology. Nether of these degrees would get me anywhere without having gone all the way in one, I picked Psychology. During my graduate years, I spent all my time studying and working at getting my committee together, not thinking about things that were unrelated to my work. My goal was a single minded ambition to graduate and I did so and never looked back.

Get busy, that is my advice, do your work. Procrastinators come in last, you need to start working on your assignments as soon as you receive them; you are in the big league now, so don’t expect professors to hold your hand, they will use you and that is the price you pay for the privilege to be a member of the scholastic club. Graduate school is an tough and you will be used by those same professors that handled you with kid gloves as an undergraduate. Cut the mustard and get your work done

Ah, the English major...academic gateway to the next academic gateway... :chuckle: I did a dual concentration in creative writing AND literature, doubling the futility. :poly: And then off to law school...

My heart was in English literature, but my head in psychology. I think had I went to school 30 years later, I would have liked computer science, with an emphasis in artificial intelligence. Then again, it might have still been English literature, as I was quite different back then

As scientist, I believe ...
There ought to be some law that prohibits one from appropriating the label "scientist" until they have at least reached the age of forty-five.

Go to sleep. Hopefully you will realize the nightmare that you have just joined was only a dream. :squint:
