You want TOL to be like other sites?

      Why?

The ones that are healthy and thriving don't let the folks out in left field get away with stuff.
Get away with what 'stuff'? I am not "left field" by any stretch but your purge is already backfiring.

The nonsense garbage hurts a website.
Again, attempt to define 'nonsense garbage'. You called out 'one trick pony' threads because there were too many critical on Trump in your opinion. Yet thread after thread is started praising Trump or criticizing 'the left' that are no deeper than 'no one can stop the Trump train' or 'boo leftists go home'.

I even started one early in his presidency entitle "Trump: the Good, the Bad and the Ugly" where everyone was welcome to post the positive and negative aspects of his presidency. Yet, you closed it, likely without even looking at it. It had "Trump" and "bad" in the title so better close it, I guess.

Stop being so ambiguous with what Sherman doesn't like.

So my aim to get TOL healthy and thriving again.
Your actions as mod have only resulted in the opposite. That's not an opinion. The proof is there.

This is meant to be conservative Christian site and that is what it will be.
It is and always will be. I'm not sure why you think it would ever be anything else as long as Knight owns the domain. Trump has zero to do with Christianity. Start a thread if you think he is. You'd do well not to equate the two.

I don't see atheists mocking Christianity so what else are you referring to?

Dissenters are free to participate, but they have to be respectful in their dialog then they do.
When Knight and others were active moderators, there was a thing called TruthSmack. Dissenters were free to participate and would often get exposed and smacked down for their whining and naysaying. It gives everyone a chance to sharpen their debate skills and set in stone their beliefs and ideals.

I had great debates with atheists and political extremists on both sides (Mountain bikers anyone?). Now it's just becoming more and more of an echo chamber.

      Good luck with it!

Knight post in the shoutbox: New [25-07, 16:59] Knight: We need some new fresh topics on TOL. Who's got something juicy???

So, who does? Maybe we can have some more Trinity threads or MAD threads. Or, are those the 'one trick pony threads' you've been refering to?

            Ahhh, the good ole days...
The state — whatever its particular forms — always expresses itself as a collective form of property ownership. All political systems are socialistic, in that they are premised upon the subservience of individual interests to collective authority. Communism, fascism, lesser forms of state socialism, and welfarism, are all premised upon the state’s usurpation of privately-owned property. Whether one chooses to be aligned with the political "Left," "Right," or "Middle," comes down to nothing more than a preference for a particular franchise of state socialism.

there used to be a weird synergy between this site and an extreme leftist one that, iirc, was called wincoast(?) Some common posters and a lot of hate from the leftist board toward us here. I trolled it for a while until it grew boring and as far as i know, shut down. When it was booming there were lots of organized raids from homos and pro-aborts. Used to keep the mods and admins on their toes

seems to me it was run by somebody who'd made a fortune getting in on the ground floor of amateur internet porn

While I see what your saying....the flip side is non debate. Take any topic on the active board right now and what do you see? Everyone talking past one another.

I think I remember that site....some members here were members there and they would bring their friends and attempt to bash us....well, we are still here, most of them left voluntarily.

I liked a lot of them, in a weird kinda why-are-you-so-frustrating? way.

Exactly. Withstand the hoards and they leave on their own volition. Banning them outright isn't fun for anyone.
