    You often hear people say "all sins are equal". Is that a valid statement?
    No.
    It is abundantly clear that some sins are greater than others. 'Eye for eye', as a general example, is diametrically opposed to the notion that all sins are equal.

    What many people have done, unwittingly, is mistake the annulment of sin for an equality of sin. It's that simple.

      As Sherman said, Jesus spoke rather plainly about this.

      Furthermore, Paul also speaks less plainly on the matter in a more specific light.

      1 Corinthians 6:18
      "Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body."

      He makes a differentiation here that is evident that some sins are more harmful than others.
