Eating the Lamb of God - How does it clarify the purpose for Christ's shed blood?

The sin offering in the Old Testament sanctuary service symbolized the Lamb of God. The study in this video reveals that in the amazing reality to which the sin offering pointed, believers are to eat the Lamb of God.

Much is said about the importance of Christ's blood releasing us from the guilt of our sins. In what ways does the concept of eating the Lamb of God clarify the purpose for Christ's shed blood?

Well, I see a big problem at 2:15-2:54 where the speaker is referencing Leviticus 4:35.

Here is the passage:

Leviticus 4:27-35
27 And if any one of the common people sin through ignorance, while he doeth somewhat against any of the commandments of the Lord concerning things which ought not to be done, and be guilty;
28 Or if his sin, which he hath sinned, come to his knowledge: then he shall bring his offering, a kid of the goats, a female without blemish, for his sin which he hath sinned.
29 And he shall lay his hand upon the head of the sin offering, and slay the sin offering in the place of the burnt offering.
30 And the priest shall take of the blood thereof with his finger, and put it upon the horns of the altar of burnt offering, and shall pour out all the blood thereof at the bottom of the altar.
31 And he shall take away all the fat thereof, as the fat is taken away from off the sacrifice of peace offerings; and the priest shall burn it upon the altar for a sweet savour unto the Lord; and the priest shall make an atonement for him, and it shall be forgiven him.
32 And if he bring a lamb for a sin offering, he shall bring it a female without blemish.
33 And he shall lay his hand upon the head of the sin offering, and slay it for a sin offering in the place where they kill the burnt offering.
34 And the priest shall take of the blood of the sin offering with his finger, and put it upon the horns of the altar of burnt offering, and shall pour out all the blood thereof at the bottom of the altar:
35 And he shall take away all the fat thereof, as the fat of the lamb is taken away from the sacrifice of the peace offerings; and the priest shall burn them upon the altar, according to the offerings made by fire unto the Lord: and the priest shall make an atonement for his sin that he hath committed, and it shall be forgiven him.

The passage states that the first choice for the sin offering is to be a young female goat.
The passage then says that an alternate choice for the sin offering is a young female lamb.

This shows that the lamb of the sin offering is not the lamb John the baptizer was referring to when he said Jesus was "the Lamb of God, which takes away the sin of the world."

Summarizing the argument, it seems the line of logic goes, "Jesus was the Lamb of God and Jesus was a male. The lamb for the sin offering was a female, so therefore, the reference to the Lamb of God could not be related to the sin offering."

What sacrifice do you believe John was referring to when he called Jesus "The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world"? It seems that Jesus being male should not discount the sin offering as an option. After all, He was not a sheep either. There were many things in the prototype Old Testament sanctuary that do not match exactly with the reality to which they pointed.

The sin offering is an offering by an individual for that individual's own sin.
It appears that God specified that the sin offering would be a young female goat or lamb in order to make sure that we do not confuse Jesus with the sin offering.
The sacrifice of Jesus was not for His own sin, it was for the sins of many.

Matthew 26:28
28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

We cannot ignore that the Bible says that Jesus is our passover lamb.

Exodus 12:21
21 Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel, and said unto them, Draw out and take you a lamb according to your families, and kill the passover.

1 Corinthians 5:7
7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:

Since Jesus is the passover lamb, His blood is able to turn away death from those who believe.

Exodus 12:23
23 For the Lord will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the Lord will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you.

The blood of the sin offering was the only blood that was brought into the sanctuary. Hebrews 13:10-12 describes this sacrifice, and then links it with Jesus. Jesus is the reality to which the sin offering pointed.

Heb. 13:10-12 We have an altar from which those who serve the tabernacle have no right to eat. 11 For the bodies of those animals whose blood is brought into the holy place by the high priest as an offering for sin, are burned outside the camp. 12 Therefore Jesus also, that He might sanctify the people through His own blood, suffered outside the gate.

But as you indicated, Jesus is also our Passover. I believe the sin offering and the Passover both show different aspects of the same thing. If you are interested, here is a link to a blog post with some additional thoughts on that subject.

The author of Hebrews in those verses is speaking about certain sacrifices that occur once a year on a particular day.

Leviticus 16:29-31
29 And this shall be a statute for ever unto you: that in the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, ye shall afflict your souls, and do no work at all, whether it be one of your own country, or a stranger that sojourneth among you:
30 For on that day shall the priest make an atonement for you, to cleanse you, that ye may be clean from all your sins before the Lord.
31 It shall be a sabbath of rest unto you, and ye shall afflict your souls, by a statute for ever.

Leviticus 16:18-19
18 And he shall go out unto the altar that is before the Lord, and make an atonement for it; and shall take of the blood of the bullock, and of the blood of the goat, and put it upon the horns of the altar round about.
19 And he shall sprinkle of the blood upon it with his finger seven times, and cleanse it, and hallow it from the uncleanness of the children of Israel.

Leviticus 16:27
27 And the bullock for the sin offering, and the goat for the sin offering, whose blood was brought in to make atonement in the holy place, shall one carry forth without the camp; and they shall burn in the fire their skins, and their flesh, and their dung.

This is a very beautiful forum, such a great topic.

The claim that the deity of Yahoshua, the Anointing - is male or female is completely contrary and against what the manuscripts say in the original Greek.

The common mistake that most of the organizations make about the deity of Yahoshua, the - ANOINTING - is that they deny that his spirit, character, identity and who he is - the bible clearly defines him as - himself - The Holy Spirit.

A spirit or THE SPIRIT OF GOD - The Holy Spirit, is not male or female andthe bible makes it very clear that to we who are IN Yahoshua, The Anointing - there is " no male or female in him "

This is because of the identity, deity, and character of The Anointing is not
male or female. The Greek word " The Anointing " is the word " Christ "

This also is covered up by the fact that the Christian organizations who translated their bible " nearly 2000 years after Christ " they completely refused to translate the Greek word Christ into English. If we correctly translate the Greek word " Christ " into the same exact language that the surrounding body of the text is also translated into, we begin to see that the scriptures are saying that Yahoshua, The Anointing is literally, truly THE HOLY SPIRIT HIMSELF.

Therefore, our relationship with Yahoshua, now that he has returned to heaven to sit in the father's, which he is in the right of the throne, having exited, departedm come out of " OUT FROM " the throne - he is no longer in an earthly, physical form or MORPH of a man. He is the Holy Spirit.

We see clearly - 2Co 5:16 Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known THE ANOINTING / Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.

The fact is
- Joh 14:18 says - I { YAHOSHUA } will not leave you comfortless: - I will come to you. Yahoshua is sending the comforter which is the Holy Spirit. It is Yahoshua, The Anointing who is coming back as the Holy Spirit. - I will come to you - I will bein You.

So the problem that exists is - had the translators actually translated the Greek word " Christ " into English, instead of refusing to translate this Greek word, the message of the bible would further clarify and explain that Christ, The Anointing is the Holy Spirit.

The Bible clearly says that the Holy Spirit - which is “ THE VERY SAME SPIRIT “ of Yahoshua the Anointing, - was ialso - in the Old Testament prophets and men of God.

As Peter clearly says in 1Pe 1: The prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you: :11 Searching what, or what manner of time “ THE SPIRIT OF THE ANOINTING / CHRIST “ WHICH WAS IN THEM - did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of THE ANOINTING / CHRIST .......

We see clearly that the very same Spirit of Yahoshua himself, is The Holy Spirit that had been previously sent to earth as The Holy Spirit of prophecy. – to the prophets in the Old testament.

And - Gal 4:6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth - “ THE SPIRIT OF HIS SON “ - into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.

God is saying that he is sending the - SPIRIT OF THE SON - into the hearts of believers.

And - Php 1:19 For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the SUPPLY of “ the Spirit of Yahoshua THE ANOINTING “

By completely removed and deleted the meaning of the Greek word “ Christ “ in every single last verse in the entire bible, -- - it literally has no MEANING and
APPLICATION to the mainstream so Christian orginazations in their theory, faith and doctrine. But it is applied as the Holy Spirit in the manuscripts.
:20 … … .. so now also Christ “ The Anointing : shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.

The “ Anointing “ Christ Yahoshua - is the Holy Spirit.

Eph 2:18 THROUGH { Yahoshua } we both “ you and I “ have access by one Spirit unto the Father.

And we see that there is ONLY one single mediator between God and man - Yahoshua.

Yet, in Rom 8:26 we see it is the Holy Spirit itself that makes intercession for us with groaning which cannot be uttered. :27 the spirit makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

The Holy Spirit and Yahoshua are both the same operation of mediating and intercession between God and man.

Rom 8:10 And if Christ / “ The Anointing “ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

Rom 12:5 So we, being many, are one body in - Christ, “ The Anointing :6 Having then gifts of the “ Spirit “ - such as the gift of prophecy and all of the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

SO . When we are to digest, eat and process the lamb of God, we are not doing this as
even
ourselves being male or female. The holy spirit, The Anointing / Christ - also, is not male or female, nor are the believers who are IN him male or female.

Gal 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male or female: for ye are all one in The Anointing Yahoshua.

Many alternative ideas and narratives can be inserted into a book that an organization has done nothing - but write articles, documentary, publications and thesis about this book while waiting for nearly 2000 years before they actually translate the book ?

And simultaneously - banning, outlawing, prohibiting and making illegal the translation of the book for nearly 2000 years, under the punishment of the death penalty and severe torture - while doing nothing but writing personal publications and articles about the book - instead of actually translating it ?

It would be very easy to insert, add and change the translation to interweave many key specific doctrinals and theologies into a book that is denied translation for nearly 2000 years.

The old law that required the blood of animals to be shed for the forgiveness of sins was about Jesus who would come and die for us.

The old law with the offering of animals was a shadow of Jesus.

It was a teaching tool about Jesus who would come to die for us.

When we have faith in the shed blood of Jesus, it is as drinking his blood.

When we obey the words of Jesus, it is as eating his flesh.

When we drink his blood and eat his flesh, Jesus gives us pure water to drink.

The pure water to drink is the Holy Spirit, who is Jesus himself.

It is spiritual.

When we believe and obey, Jesus will live in our heart.

Jesus is the Word of God, John 1:1. The Word became flesh, John 1:14. Jesus’ words are life, John 6:63. Jesus’ body is the bread, the bread from heaven, John 6:33. Matthew 4:4 Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.“

If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever, John 6:51. This bread is Jesus’ flesh, which he will give for the life of the world, John 6:53.

Unless we eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, we have no life in us. Jesus tells us the truth, if anyone obeys his word, he will never see death, John 8:51.

When we believe in Jesus’ shed blood, we come into the blood covenant with God, Mark 14:24. We believe and this believing is as drinking his blood.

To obey Jesus, to do what the bread from heaven says, this is eating, this is eating the bread from heaven, and it is eating his flesh. Obeying Jesus’ word is equivalent to eating his flesh.

Luke 11:3 Give us each day our daily bread.

Jesus says for us to pray, give us each day our daily bread. That is having Jesus every day, his words, his teachings. We are to eat Jesus every day, which is to obey every day.

John 6:58 This is the bread that came down from heaven. Your forefathers ate manna and died, but he who feeds on this bread will live forever.”

Did you hear what Jesus said? Jesus says he who “feeds on this bread.” That is not a onetime thing. We are to eat every day. We are to obey every day.

Matthew 5:6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.

When we are hungry and thirsty for God’s truth, we come to Jesus. Jesus says, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.” John 6:51

When we come to Jesus and then believe, it is as drinking his blood. When we obey, it is as eating his flesh. After we eat his flesh and drink his blood, Jesus gives us water to drink that means Jesus gives us the Holy Spirit, John 4:10; 14; John 7:38; 39.

1 Corinthians 12:13 For we were all baptized by one Spirit into one body–whether Jews or Greeks, slave or free–and we were all given the one Spirit to drink.

John 6:27 Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. On him God the Father has placed his seal of approval.” The seal of approval is the Holy Spirit.

When we celebrate the Lord’s Supper, it is in remembrance to Jesus dying for us.
For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.1 Corinthians 11:26.

Read what Jesus' disciples said to him...

John 4:31 Meanwhile his disciples urged him, "Rabbi, eat something."

32 But he said to them, "I have food to eat that you know nothing about."

33 Then his disciples said to each other, "Could someone have brought him food?"

34 "My food," said Jesus, "is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work.

Did you read that? Jesus says his food is to DO the will of him who sent me and to FINISH HIS WORK.

We are to do God's will. God's will is that we obey Jesus' teachings.

Now, that proves we eat the flesh of Jesus when we do what Jesus says to do.

That is how we eat the bread from heaven, the bread of life.

We have to eat every day. We have to obey every day.
