Is Calvinism Wrong?

Why do you suppose that the word "gospel" is used SO MANY times by Paul and so few times elsewhere?

You don't scare me RP. I have a Bible and study it. I know that there are many gospels because I can read.

If you use the word "Gospel" to mean any other thing than the salvation of fallen man. you are doing the word of God a terrible injustice.

There is only one Gospel pertaining to the salvation of fallen man. It is the Gospel that justifies the ungodly, Romans 4:5 and reconciles us and the world unto God, 2 Corinthians 5:18, 19. To say that there are other Gospels is to muddy the waters.

The waters are muddied by those who can't tell the difference between the Gospel that was preached by Jesus when He walked this earth, and the one the Risen Lord gave to Paul.

The word "Gospel" is mainly used in Paul's epistles and is related the salvation of fallen man. To use the word "Gospel" for any other reason than to describe God's work for us in Jesus Christ is heresy.

How long have you been posting on this forum, Robert, without seeing how many folks preach the Gospel of the Kingdom, and call it the Gospel of Salvation?

Are you sure you know the difference?

Your gospel teaching makes Christ death ineffective to save.

Matthew 4:23 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people.

Matthew 9:35 Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.

Matthew 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.

Mark 1:14 Now after John was put in prison, Jesus came to Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, 15 and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.”

So just exactly what was it that Jesus was preaching? What is the Gospel according to Jesus?

"The Gospel of the Kingdom" pertains to when Jesus was here on the earth. Where ever Jesus is at there is the Kingdom. After Jesus went back to heaven the phrase "Gospel of the Kingdom" is no longer relevant.

Paul did not use the word "Gospel" carelessly. The Bible does not use the word "Gospel" carelessly, nor should we.

The Gospel of the Kingdom is the good news that the King has arrived. Where ever Jesus is at there is the Kingdom.

Mar 1:14-15 KJV Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, (15) And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

Jesus says that the gospel of the kingdom is that the kingdom was AT HAND (and of course He is the King of that kingdom).

That is NOT IDENTICAL to the gospel of the grace of God per Paul.

And, of course, none of this has anything to do with the topic of this thread.

The Kingdom Gospel can also mean anything pertaining to the church, heaven or what ever, but it has nothing to do with the Gospel of grace.

So, define the phrase "God's work for us in Jesus Christ".

I thought that you was never going to ask.

God's work for us in Jesus Christ is that work that Jesus did for the salvation of fallen man.

God requires two things for the salvation of fallen man.

1. A life of perfect obedience according to God's Holy Law.

2. A perfect atonement for the sins of fallen man and for the sins of the whole world.

Jesus, as fallen man's representative has met all of the requirements for the salvation of fallen man.

Proof of this is that God has welcomed Jesus back into heaven and has made him both Lord and Christ, Acts 2:36. When God accepted Jesus into heaven we were accepted in him.

The law has been fulfilled and abolished, Matthew 5:18 also Ephesians 2:15. All sin has been atoned for, 2 Corinthians 5:21.

God now sees ALL THINGS in his Son Jesus Christ. All that have faith in the work of Christ are complete in him, Colossians 2:10.

You teach that people Christ lived and died for perish anyway.

Robert,
I thought that you believed that there was ever only ONE Gospel, as you vehemently argued in many other threads, and that the only difference between them was the degree of understanding?
