Apparently, Donald Trump is going to Ohio to console the people there.

I can see him showing up in Toledo, and asking "where is everyone?"

It's worth noting that hacking his account, and doing so rather openly, was counterproductive if "leftists" (in this case, people opposed to mass murder) did it. It allows some to use it as a distraction. The important thing is that the shooter posted his intentions and motivations on 8chan (Warning: don't go there, if you don't want to be sickened and repulsed) Just before the attacks.

That happens frequently with online profiles of people in the news. I don't know if someone created it just to make it look hacked, who knows, but there's an edit button clearly visible in the screenshots posted by the rightists who are so enraged that someone would try to make the terrorist look like one of them.

I'm waiting to see if his manifesto is declared to be genuine, because it's damning not only to him but to his racist right-wing apologists.

BTW - Republican State Rep. Candice Keller blames the shootings on gay marriage, transgender people, video games and former President Obama, the legalization of marijuana, protest by pro athletes, and snowflakes.

Trump admitted it, doing a quick 180 WRT white nationalism:
“The shooter in El Paso posted a manifesto online consumed by racist hate," the president said. "In one voice, our nation must condemn racism, bigotry and white supremacy."

Yeah, video games. That's the ticket. Has to be video games. What a moron.

Colin County has this guy registered, but doesn't have him registered as a democrat or a republican.

What we know about the El Paso shooting suspect

August 3, 2019 / 8:00 PM / CBS News

A suspect was taken into custody in connection with a Saturday shooting that left at least 20 people dead and 26 wounded in an El Paso shopping complex. A law enforcement source identified the shooting suspect as Patrick Crusius of Allen, Texas.

The source told CBS News senior investigative producer Pat Milton the suspect was considered "a troubled youth" and described as a loner. Authorities are treating a document allegedly written by the gunman as evidence.

The document was shared on 4Chan, an online forum where users can post anonymously. In it, the suspect denounces Hispanic people in Texas, cites concerns about losing American jobs to automation and criticizes both political parties. The text includes a reference to the Christchurch mosque shootings in New Zealand, which left 51 people dead.

If anyone thinks that's a "leftist", then we've identified the problem. White nationalist, not fond of either party.

Ok, so how is that going to be of use in preventing future attacks?

Remember How Republicans Blamed All the Mass Shootings between Jan. 2009 and Jan. 2017 on Obama?

Neither do I. They did blame Obama for all sorts of horrible things happening in the Middle East because he was not mass murdering as many Muslims as the crazed neocon Pompeo/Bolton wing of the GOP would like, but to their credit they still apparently believe that individuals who commit domestic crimes are the ones responsible for the crimes. The Democrats, on the other hand, are so consumed by their desperate hunger for totalitarian power fueled by explosive hatred of anyone who stands in the way of it that they will tell any lie, no matter how absurd. Their latest is that Donald Trump is responsible for the murders in Dayton, Ohio by the deranged nut who has been identified as a Bernie/Warren-supporting/Trump-hating/Antifa-supporting socialist.

Maybe it's because Obama didn't tell his followers that maybe "the Second Amendment People" could fix things if Hillary Clinton was elected.

Maybe it's because Obama supporters didn't shoot up crowds in Wal-Marts.

Maybe it's because Obama supporters didn't send bombs to republican leaders.

Maybe it's because Obama didn't say that white nationalists were "some very good people."

Maybe it's because mass shooters weren't claiming Obama's positions as their own.

Stuff like that.

Police now suspect he shot his sister and a "companion" because she was dating a black man. Doesn't sound much like Antifa, which targets white nationalist groups.

And McConnell is still blocking any meaningful attempt to stop it. It's corroding our trust in America, it's making people fearful, and it's getting worse.

WASHINGTON — A group of cybersecurity, national security and legal experts is warning that Russia’s efforts to weaken America’s democratic institutions aren’t limited to elections but also extend to the U.S. justice system.

Your obsessive fixation on McConnell is disturbing

Have you considered talking to a mental health professional?

It was, he said, uploaded just before the shooting, but not by the shooter. Who else would have known? Apparently someone to whom he was willing to trust.

That's an encouraging thought.

Unfiltered Voices From Donald Trump's Crowds

This is a small sample from 2016.

Trump and Fox share the majority of the blame for the radicalization of the right because they reach the largest audiences, while aiming for the lowest common denominator.
