He’s the Prince of Peacemakers

He hath spoken, Be still, the Rebuker of seas;
The command was for me, and my heart is at ease;
He hath hushed into silence the waves and the winds,
By applying His blood, and removing my sins.

He hath quickened my soul by a life from above,
It was done by the Spirit, its essence is love;
He hath pardoned and washed me as white as the snow,
And my heart with His love does this moment o’erflow.

He’s a wonderful Jesus, this Savior of mine,
He’s the great Son of God, a Redeemer divine.
He’s my strength, and my wisdom, my life and my Lord,
And enthroned in my heart to be loved and adored.

I will love Him and serve Him, from now till I die,
For His love fills my heart, and His beauty my eye.
He’s the fairest and dearest of all to my soul,
And our lives shall be one, while eternities roll.

He’s the Prince of peacemakers, all glory to God,
To redeem me, and cleanse me, He shed his own blood;
My adoption is sealed, I’m a child of the King,
And for ever and ever of Jesus I’ll sing.

Peace Speaker

It was such a lovely day
And the sun was shining bright
The gentle breeze was glowing my way
Not a storm and cloud insight

The suddenly without a warning
Storm surrounded my life
But even in the storm
I can feel the calm and here's the reason why

I know the Peace Speaker
I know Him by name
I know the Peace Speaker
He controls the winds and waves.

When He says, “Peace! Be still!”
They have to obey
I'm glad I know the Peace Speaker
Yes, I know Him by name

There’s never been another man
with the power of this friend
By simply saying, “Peace! Be still!”
He can calm the strongest wind.

So now I’ll never worry when storm clouds come my way
I know that He is near to drive away my fear,
and I can smile and say…
Peace, peace, wonderful peace.
Coming down from the Father above.

Each Step I Take

Each step I take my Saviour goes before me,
And with His loving hand He leads the way,
And with each breath I whisper “I adore Thee,”
Oh, what joy to walk with Him each day.

I trust in God, no matter come what may,
For life eternal in His hand,
He holds the key that opens up the way,
That will lead me to the promised land.

Each step I take I know that He will guide me;
To higher ground He ever leads me on.
Until some day the last step will be taken.
Each step I take just leads me closer home.

There’s a blessed time that’s coming, coming soon,
It may be evening, morning or at noon,
The wedding of the bride, united with the Groom,
We shall see the King when He comes.

Are you ready should the Savior call today?
Would Jesus say, “Well done” or “Go away”?
My home is for the pure, the vile can never stay,
We shall see the King when He comes.

To crown your Savior king and Lord of all?
The kingdoms of this world shall soon before Him fall,

I have come seeking fruit on this fig tree and find none.
Cut it down; why does it use up (cumber) the ground?
Luke 13:7

Cut It Down

Justice. Cut it down, cut it down,
Spare not the fruitless tree!
It spreads a harmful shade around,
It spoils what else were useful ground.
No fruit for years on it I’ve found;
Cut it down, cut it down.

Mercy. One year more, one year more,
Oh, spare the fruitless tree!
Behold its branches broad and green
Its spreading leaves have hopeful been,
Some fruit thereon may yet be seen;
One year more, one year more.

Justice. Cut it down, cut it down,
And burn the worthless tree!
For other use the soil prepare,
Some other tree will flourish there,
And in my vineyard much fruit bear,
Cut it down, cut it down.

Mercy. One year more, one year more,
For mercy spare the tree!
Another year of care bestow,
On its fair form some fruit may grow,
If not — then lay the cumb’rer low,

Still it stands, still it stands,
A fair, but fruitless tree!
The Master, seeking fruit thereon
Has come — but, grieved at finding none,
Now speaks to Justice — Mercy flown —

Follow Me

I traveled down a lonely road and no one seemed to care;
The burden on my weary back had bowed me to despair,
I oft complained to Jesus how folks were treating me,
And then I heard Him say so tenderly,
“My feet were also weary, upon the Calv’ry road;
The cross became so heavy, I fell beneath the load,
Be faithful weary pilgrim, the morning I can see,
Just lift your cross and follow close to me.”

“I work so hard for Jesus” I often boast and say,
“I've sacrificed a lot of things to walk the narrow way,
I gave up fame and fortune, I'm worth a lot to Thee,”
And then I hear Him gently say to me.
“I left the throne of glory and counted it but loss,
My hands were nailed in anger upon a cruel cross,
But now we'll make the journey with your hand safe in mine,
So lift your cross and follow close to me.”

Oh, Jesus if I die upon a foreign field some day,
’Twould be no more than love demands no less could I repay,
“No greater love hath mortal man than for a friend to die.”
These are the words He gently spoke to me,
“If just a cup of water I place within your hand
Then just a cup of water is all that I demand,”
But if by death to living they can thy glory see,
I'll take my cross and follow close to thee.

Such powers of holy meetness
As welled in that heart of His.

Ever busy His hands with kindness,
His lips overflowed with grace,
While His feet were impelled to mercy,
Love immortal illumined His face.
And yet never a fiend did fathom
Such depth of derision and shame,
And never the vilest traitor
Did bear such a burden of blame.

There were never such floods of sorrow,
Such grief as the Savior braved,
As were brimming His cup on Calvary,
When He drained it that we might be saved.
O, was ever a heart so hardened,
And can such ingratitude be,
That one for whom Jesus suffered
Will say, “It is nothing to me?”


O grace of God, so boundless!
O love of Christ, so true!
Has sin your soul so blinded,
That Jesus is nothing to you?

Ask What Great Thing I Know

Ask what great thing I know, that delights and stirs me so?
What the high reward I win? Whose the name I glory in?
Jesus Christ, the Crucified.

What is faith’s foundation strong? What awakes my heart to song?
He who bore my sinful load, purchased for me peace with God,
Jesus Christ, the Crucified.

Who is He that makes me wise to discern where duty lies?
Who is He that makes me true duty, when discerned to do,
Jesus Christ, the Crucified.

Who defeats my fiercest foes? Who consoles my saddest woes?
Who revives my fainting heart, healing all its hidden smart?
Jesus Christ, the Crucified.

Who is life in life to me? Who the death of death will be?
Who will place me on His right, with the countless hosts of light?
Jesus Christ, the Crucified.

This is that great thing I know, this delights and stirs me so;
Faith in Him who died to save, Him who triumphed over the grave:
Jesus Christ, the Crucified.

Higher, higher in the school of wisdom,
More of grace to know.

Deeper, deeper, blessed Holy Spirit,
Take me deeper still,
Till my life is wholly lost in Jesus,
And His perfect will.

Deeper, deeper! though it cost hard trials,
Deeper let me go!
Rooted in the holy love of Jesus,
Let me fruitful grow.

Deeper, higher, every day in Jesus,
Till all conflict past,
Finds me conqu’ror, and in His own image
Perfected at last.

Deeper, deeper in the faith of Jesus,
Holy faith and true;
In His pow’r and soul exulting wisdom
Let me peace pursue.

So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase. Now he who plants and he who waters are one, and each one will receive his own reward according to his own labor. For we are God's fellow workers; you are God's field, you are God's building. 1 Corinthians 3:7-9

God the Lord Does Ask

God the Lord does ask us to do a task,
Whether planting or watering seed.
We are servants all of our God who has called
Us to come to Him and believe.
We all are God’s fellow workers;
We’re His field where His seed does grow.

God alone does know how to make things grow;
Let none quarrel or be filled with pride.
For the ones who sow and who water know
That their purpose is unified.
We all are God’s fellow workers;
Each man’s labor will bring reward.

By God’s gift of grace, a foundation’s placed
And a building ere long does rise.
But we each must take care how we build our share;
It must rest upon Jesus Christ.
For we are the Lord’s own building;
Our foundation is Christ the Lord.

If we build with gold that has worth untold
Or with silver or costly stones,
Then our work still will last when the judgment has passed;
Its true character will be shown.
The Day will reveal each building;
Each man’s work will be tested by fire.

If our work displays only wood, straw, hay,
We will suffer great loss and shame.
For though we will survive, we will win no prize;
We’ll escape only as through flames.
O Lord, may we build with wisdom,
That our work may come forth as gold!
