Well...here it is...

hallelujah brothers and sisters this is where we gather in His name

today is Sunday … Then, the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and said to them, "Peace be with you." John 20:19
we put away our differences …
"Come now, and let us reason together." Isaiah 1:18
we give thanks …
It is good to give thanks to the LORD, and to sing praises to Your name, O Most High. Psalm 92:1
we give praise …
I will declare Your name to My brethren;
In the midst of the assembly I will praise You. Psalm 22:22
we ask for forgiveness …
And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 4:32
we ask for guidance …
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye. Psalm 32:8
However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. John 16:13
we ask for help …
Our soul waits for the LORD; He is our help and our shield. Psalm 33:20
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1
Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD his God. Psalm 146:5
Then she came and worshiped Him, saying, "Lord, help me!" Matthew 15:25
we do it together …
For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them. Matthew 18:20
Immediately many gathered together, so that there was no longer room to receive them, not even near the door. And He preached the word to them. Mark 2:2

Hmmm...

Good verse.
I notice that Truth is not considered to be Fact Based by religious people who gather to compare their own Book Report on the Bible with others.
They tend to insist their own interpretations and ideas can deny even scientific facts and especially rational logical arguments against their views.
Still, they want to gather in His name, which seems strange.

Mat 18:20
For where two or three are gathered together in my name (Truth: [ John 14:6]), there am I, (Truth), in the midst of them.

Is abortion the only issue? Not for me it isn't. I hate abortion, but I also hate child abuse. At least babies that are aborted don't have to suffer the way so many children do at the hands of drug and alcohol adicted parents. so why haven't the others started with the thousand years of Revelation 20 (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=rev%2020&version=KJV)?

because they say 'reign of Christ'

what's wrong with that?

it says 'reign with Christ'

is that so different?

whenever two or more are gathered in His name, He is with them

I love it when you quote the bible, can you cite the passage?

without it you are forced into the future as far as interpretation goes

but the time is near

she does get a lot of attention this time of year

why is that?

Dec 8 we celebrate the feast of the Immaculate Conception (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Immaculate_Conception)

is that when Jesus was conceived?

no but many incorrectly think that

is it when Mary was conceived?

yes

what does it mean?

that Mary was conceived without sin

is there any scripture basis for that?

not directly, it is based on the belief that the mother of God should be without sin

so it is more out of respect for Jesus than it is for Mary?

The Greek author of Matthew justified the Pagan infusion of the virgin birth myth by mistranslating. There were many attempts to justify Jesus authority and acceptance by forcing him into the OT, it failed to satisfy the Jews and only added to the confusion of believers.

Wiki:

"In this passage from the book of Isaiah the prophet predicts to king Ahaz that a young woman will give birth to a son who will be called "Immanuel", meaning "God with us", and that Ahaz's enemies will be destroyed before this child learns the difference between good and evil, i.e., before he reaches maturity. The Hebrew word is "עלמה" (almah), which scholars agree means a young woman of child-bearing age, without any connotation of virginity, and the context of the passage makes it clear that Isaiah has in mind events in his and Ahaz's near future. The Greek-speaking author of Matthew, however, used the Greek translation of Isaiah, in which the word is given as "παρθένος", parthenos, meaning a virgin.

Jesus never taught that his mother was a virgin or anything other then a normal human mother, albeit blessed with the distinction of being the earth mother of the incarnate Son of God.

Paul has misled Christians. The name of the son is not Jesus. At least not His divine name but if you do as He did and take His example as well as all the prophets of the Lord's examples then you will be sowing justice and you will reap the fruits of piety.

The Lord says this;

"Sow justice for yourself and reap the fruits of piety."

That's the word of the Lord who lives in me and I in Him. I am the resurrection and the life, no one who follows me shall ever walk in darkness because they will possess the light of life.

Certainly, we gather in His name, brother Chrys. But... what exactly is in His name besides 5 letters? We believe on His name, we pray in His name... Well? Maybe 77 generations of God's kingdom between Luke 3:38, and Luke 3:23 counting in reverse the generations of the Messiah prophesied by the murderer Lamech in Genesis 4:24? This 'name' brother Chrys? Maybe there's more to His name than we realize? Maybe we need to know the truth about Him! I certainly don't have all the answers to all the questions, but I know the truth, brother Chrys...

A giant prehistoric pest,
sent to stop people leaving their front Yards.
sent to devour an gobble up the strength of youth before they Know it.
sent to tinker with brain capacity, Dilute character, preventing ideal communications.
all is insignificant to the time Line that has been set out by its creator, appearing on the First Day of Never.

based on what?

we can start with the fact that John uses his own name three times in the first chapter

that is odd

you will find the name Jesus in only seven of the 22 chapters

so?

John the Baptist called Jesus the Lamb of God

this is true

it has also been shown that Revelation was first written in Hebrew and later translated into Greek

John the Baptist would have written in Hebrew

at the time he did not know Jesus was the Lamb of God

Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving;
Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms.

Psalm 100:2, 4
Serve the Lord with gladness; come before His presence with singing.
Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise.
Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.

Philippians 1:2-4

he was in Ephesus at the very beginning of the fifth century

doing what?

replacing seven corrupt bishops

were the other six cities named?

no

how long was he there?

at least 3 months and returned to Constantinople just in time for Easter

do we know if he visited Patmos?

no but how could he resist?

so?

before this time we have nothing to confirm that Revelation was indeed part of the official bible

really?

really

so what else do you know about John Chrysostom?

do you know anything about astronomy?

no

neither do I

so why do you mention it?

a Russian astronomer recognized the astronomical setting of Revelation (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apocalypse_of_John_%E2%80%93_dated_astronomically) and dated it September 30, 395 for the island of Patmos

so where was John Chrysostom?

he was still in Antioch and didn't get to Constantinople until 397

so you have another problem with dates

not really, the Russians were still using the Julian calendar

so you don't trust dates?

just consider them approximations

there were two other major players during his time

Jerome was translating the bible

Augustine was writing 'City of God'

is there a connection?

up until that time there was doubt that Revelation should be in the bible

there still is

not if Jerome and Augustine accept it

did Chrysostom?

he never quoted it

what do you make of that?

he didn't have much of a chance to quote it after returning from Ephesus

there are problems with dating

Codex Sinaiticus in the 4th century predates Chrysostom

it appears that way

isn't that a showstopper for you?

not really, very little of my views depend on him

then why use him at all?

it may answer more questions than it raises

will you address the questions that it does raise?

I can only question the dating of the manuscript

reasonably?

it is easy to do

the date is based on style of writing which can't be exact

what else?

it is a collection of books so Revelation could have been added at a later date
