World renown sailor Popeye has E. coli and is in intensive care in an area hospital. Popeye has long urged children to eat spinach and has claimed that spinach is the source of the Sailors extreme strength, yet ironically it is spinach that may have put an end to Popeye's reign as America's favorite Sailor.
Popeye's "domestic partner" Olive Oil made a short public statement "I just knows that Bluto is behind all of this." Popeye himself was heard complaining to hospital officials regarding his treatment "That's all I can stands, and I can't stands no more!"
In a strange twist of events Bluto, arch enemy of Popeye, was pulled over by LA PD Officers for a routine traffic violation when he sped off in a white Ford Bronco. Bluto eluded Police Officers and his current where-abouts are unknown. It isn't clear if Bluto is a suspect in the E. coli tainted spinach.
