Everyone could use a little prayer.
This thread is for anyone who could use some.
You need not be Christian or even a theist. If you aren't sure where to turn and could use a little prayer, please post your prayer requests here.

I will spend time in prayer for each request.
If you see a request in here please pray :)

(this thread is not for debate about prayer, theology, the existence of God etc...)

Please, pray that :jessilu: is happy at her new job and that it leads to training that will bring her further in life.

By the way, :jessilu:'s been with her new job for two weeks and loves it. She especially likes the paycheck, right now (After getting less than $100 a week for six months, she's now getting around $300 a week.). And, they're already teaching her to drive a fork lift.

My dad's leg is swollen and his doctor said he may have a blood clot. Pray that the hospital staff does their best to find what the problem is and that my dad does all he can to fix it.

My grandmother (dad's side) is also going to be having back surgery so pray that it goes well.

Blow a trumpet in Zion, And sound an alarm on My holy mountain! Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble, For the day of the LORD is coming; Surely it is near, A day of darkness and gloom, A day of clouds and thick darkness. As the dawn is spread over the mountains, So there is a great and mighty people; There has never been anything like it, Nor will there be again after it To the years of many generations. A fire consumes before them And behind them a flame burns. The land is like the garden of Eden before them But a desolate wilderness behind them, And nothing at all escapes them. Their appearance is like the appearance of horses; And like war horses, so they run. With a noise as of chariots They leap on the tops of the mountains, Like the crackling of a flame of fire consuming the stubble, Like a mighty people arranged for battle. Before them the people are in anguish; All faces turn pale. They run like mighty men, They climb the wall like soldiers; And they each march in line, Nor do they deviate from their paths. They do not crowd each other, They march everyone in his path; When they burst through the defenses, They do not break ranks. They rush on the city, They run on the wall; They climb into the houses, They enter through the windows like a thief. Before them the earth quakes, The heavens tremble, The sun and the moon grow dark And the stars lose their brightness. The LORD utters His voice before His army; Surely His camp is very great, For strong is he who carries out His word. The day of the LORD is indeed great and very awesome, And who can endure it? "Yet even now," declares the LORD, "Return to Me with all your heart, And with fasting, weeping and mourning; And rend your heart and not your garments." Now return to the LORD your God, For He is gracious and compassionate, Slow to anger, abounding in lovingkindness And relenting of evil. Who knows whether He will not turn and relent And leave a blessing behind Him, Even a grain offering and a drink offering For the LORD your God? Blow a trumpet in Zion, Consecrate a fast, proclaim a solemn assembly,
(Joe 2:1-15)

My great aunt is dying of a brain tumor. The only thing they can give her is radiation because the tumor has tripled in size in just a few short months, and the radiation may kill her. She has gone blind and is starting to speak with people who died a long time ago.

My prayer is that God takes her home quickly.

Please pray for me as I begin prsion ministry. After training, I will be going into the prisons and ministering to those behind the walls. I would lie if I said I wasn't scared as heck, I am looking forward to hearing the voices reach out to learn and know God's word. Please keep me in prayer for strength and God's guidance.

Thank You and Praise God!

I'd like to ask for prayer.

I went to a job interview at a great place. I'm not exactly sure what I'll be doing, but it's a toss-up between working on the floor, or in sales.

I wouldn't mind the sales job, but am nervous about the expectations. I can work on the floor because I've done that type of job for a long time. I only graduated from college in 2005 and have yet to get a job where I really use my degree (just a simple BA but I studied business, computers, networking, blah, blah, blah). They sounded interested because I have experience in sales, but was more interested that I had a degree. It'd be nice to use it instead of letting my time and money go to waste on the floor.

So, I'd appreciate prayer that I get the job (and it's close too! I can ride my bike!). I, of course, want His will to be done. I also know the importance of fellowship of the saints. I'd appreciate any prayer. Mainly for His will to be done.

I would really appreciate prayer for my church. We recently had an 'exchange' in our leadership, and our new pastor is trying to steer our church away from being a meeting place for believers and turn it into an evangelism tool by trading the meat for milk. :(

Please pray that God would speak to his heart and show him that his decisions are literally tearing a bleeding hole in our family.

Performer in Church's Christmas show dies after 25-foot fall

Not only am I deeply saddened by this event but I must also question the Church's fall protection standards.

I have worked along side some of the best Canadian fall arrest / fall restraint professionals and this tradgedy would have never occured if they had the proper training and a backup lifeline.

This Church I am sorry to say is responsible for this. Still, my prayers go out to them and everyone who had to witness it. Accidents like this are 100 percent preventable and it makes me mad to hear it.

I would greatly appreciate prayer for a friend of mine who has recently gone back to using. At around thirteen after her family fell apart she got into the drug scene at school. A dealer (he was around 30 at this time) got into a relationship with her offered her all the drugs she wanted. With him she got into dealing and cooking. At 18 she got pregnant and they both got caught. In the short time in prison she got clean - for her child. Out of prison she was given much support and encouragement. She became a christian and her passion for God was very evident in everything she did. Five years she was clean then at the end of last year her ex was released from prison. I don't know exactly when it happened but she started using again after he made contact. She is currently heavily using and I suspect cooking and dealing as well. She wants so much to get clean but cannot see a way out because of how deeply entrenched she is into the drug scene. She still talks of God and how she loves Jesus but hates to be around people who love Jesus because of how guilty she feels. She needs a miracle.

Thankyou

This is for all we pray

Angel of God, my holy guardian, given to me from heaven, enlighten me this day, and save me from all evil. Instruct me in doing good deeds, and set me on the path of salvation. Amen.

Angel of Christ, holy guardian and protector of my soul and body, forgive me everything wherein I have offended you every day of my life, and protect me from all influence and temptation of the Evil One. May I never again anger God by my sins.

Pray for me to the Lord, that He may make me worthy of the grace of the All-Holy Trinity, and of the blessed Mother of God, and of all the saints. Amen.

If anyone is willing, I ask that you pray for my friend Angela that God shows her the emptiness of sin and that He reveals Himself to her more. She believes in Christ but is always struggling in her walk and cannot stay focused upon Him.

I believe that God has a beautiful plan for her life, and I ask that you pray for her relationship with the Lord.

Thanks and God bless.

Tell her to stop focusing on her sin. The biggest problem that keeps people from focusing on Christ is when they see themselves as unworthy sinners, ignoring that fact that He has already made us the very righteousness of God.

I would appreciate the prayers of our fellowship, I have developed a kidney stone, not a very big one, but the Doctor said even a grain of sand size is difficult. This a first for me, so finding out the intensity of the pain is something else. And its passing is really slow.

I know the Lord Jesus has His hand on me and Violet as she sees me through this. And simply put the Lord has instruction for me through trail as read what David said about affliction, "It is good for me that I have been afflicted, That I may learn Your statutes." Psalm 119:71

Yes I would greatly appreciate you praying with us.

Update -

I appreciate the prayers of our fellowship concerning this kidney stone dilemma. Nothing has passed, yet. The pain is almost non-existent. Before we left the hospital I was told that it pass in a few hours to maybe a few days, then the E/R physician added it may not move for a while, a week to ten days. It could even desolve and I wouldn't necessarily know it.

Praise the Lord all is quiet for now.

I'd like to ask for you guys to pray for me.

I'm in love with a person who doesn't correspond me. I've been crying a lot because she's been living in my house untill she finds a place for her and when she's on MSN, most of the time I stay at her side, chatting with her, and there are things that I read on her chats that make me very sad. She's in love with another person and it hurts me so much. Sometimes I even prefer not to be around when she's on MSN. She's a very poor person and I've been helping her financially and trying to help her to get a job. Not only because I love her, but because we are friends and I think that's one of the things friends should do.

I've never been able to tame my heart. When I love someone I love her completely. I truely give myself entirely to the person I love. And I end up suffering a lot because of that.

I've been praying recently, asking God to do His will, making her love me back or making me put this feeling aside and opening a door for me to love someone else. But it's been so hard. Sometimes I think God isn't answering me.

Hope you guys please pray for me and include my name in your churches' prayer list: Christiano José Jabur.

He won't 'make' someone do anything. He doesn't work like that. He also won't open any doors for you. He will give you wisdom to know which doors to go through and which to pass by, but He won't live your life for you, since that is yours to work out, with fear and trembling. He also won't give you temptation that is beyond your capacity to resist. Despite what you think, God always answers Christian prayer. Sometimes the answer is, "No," or, "Wait," or even, "In time;" but He always answers. I'd suggest that you listen. He's as close as your next heartbeat. He said that His sheep would recognize His Voice. He's calling you right now.

I'd like to ask for prayer for my sister, Rachel, and her son, CJ. This is my nephew with cerebral palsy. He's five years old, now.

About three weeks ago, my sister called me, telling me that CJ was running a fever and she couldn't get rid of it, no matter what she tried. A week later, she called back and said that the doctor said it was scarlet fever. Well, tonight, I called Rachel, after not hearing from her in two weeks and not being able to get in touch with her via phone. She told me that CJ was in the hospital from 8/31 to 9/6. He's been diagnosed with Kawasaki disease (https://www.google.com/health/ref/Kawasaki+disease). CJ has more than his share of health problems already. Now, even with treatment, he's at a higher risk of coronary disease and aneurysms.

Since CJ's been born, our family has been living by the mantra, "Hope for the best but prepare for the worst." Please, pray for his health (He's always in good spirits like most disabled children tend to be.) and pray for my sister and her husband, Charles. I know that they both will need as many prayers as they can get, no matter what happens. CJ is Rachel's second special needs child. Her daughter, Kathryne, is autistic.

Please pray for my alcoholism to finally be over. I was sober for 22 years and messed up 4 years ago.

Been not drinking more than drinking since I relapsed.

I know God will help me this time, I'm positive.

I was an agnostic and didn't attend AA for that 22 years I didn't drink. Not sure how I did it. I think it was that footprints in the sand poem where Jesus carried me even when I didn't know he was there.

There's this little trick I know. I mention it all the time, whenever anything even tangentially related in the most tenuous way pops up and allows me to, because I think it's just the neatest trick. Who knows if someone who needs to make use of this little trick might read it and learn it? Odd as it may seem, I even used to thank God for it quite often whenever I'd make use of it. Still thank Him that the thing even exists and for making us smart enough to come up with it.

For folks who have a problem with self mutilation, many of them can make use of the association between the oddly disconnected sort of pseudo-pain they feel and the visual image of blood from the act itself with the false, sick sense of relief that it brings. So much so that they can make use of a substitute when learning how to ween themselves off from this behavior. Rather like methadone and such, I would suppose.

You mix lots of red food coloring in water, fill an ice tray with it and freeze it. When you need to cut yourself, go to the freezer, get a couple of those red ice cubes and squeeze the holy living heck out of the buggers. Squeeze with all your might for as long as you need to. They melt, red flows down your arms like blood. No self injury necessary.

Not a great substitute and still not all that healthy (any more than methadone and such) but boy howdy, sometimes it's enough to get you through when all else fails.

Haven't done that myself in years. But I still keep a ice tray full of dark red ice in the freezer. Just in case.

I used to pray to God to take away that sickness in me that wants me to hurt myself. Now, instead, I thank Him for making us smart enough and malleable enough that silly little tricks like that actually work. And for making me strong enough that I can make use of them instead of biting myself until I bleed.

After many years of contemplating this and other such things and all those years of God teaching me what little wisdom I have, I can honestly and sincerely say I'd rather be as I am. Someone who hasn't needed that ice tray of frozen red water in the freezer in years, instead of someone He'd miraculously cured of that sickness.

My prayer is that Christianity awaken to the present chance to claim immediate salvation as sons-of-God, peacemakers, by touring the Holy Lands as a charity to the much needed economic improvement of the two parties at War in God's own little acre.

Mt 5:9
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.

Bueno de Mesquoto has invented a Mathematically proven Sociology Predictive Computer Model that claims Tourists and pilgrims will be the vehicle for Middle East Peace.

Recently, he’s applied his science to come up with some novel ideas on how to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

“In my view, it is a mistake to look for strategies that build mutual trust because it ain’t going to happen. Neither side has any reason to trust the other, for good reason,” he says.
“Land for peace is an inherently flawed concept because it has a fundamental commitment problem.

If I give you land on your promise of peace in the future, after you have the land, as the Israelis well know, it is very costly to take it back if you renege. You have an incentive to say, ‘You made a good step, it’s a Qgesture in the right direction, but I thought you were giving me more than this. I can’t give you peace just for this, it’s not enough.’
Conversely, if we have peace for land—you disarm, put down your weapons, and get rid of the threats to me and I will then give you the land—the reverse is true: I have no commitment to follow through. Once you’ve laid down your weapons, you have no threat.”

Bueno de Mesquita’s answer to this dilemma, which he discussed with the former Israeli prime minister and recently elected Labor leader Ehud Barak, is a formula that guarantees mutual incentives to cooperate.
“In a peaceful world, what do the Palestinians anticipate will be their main source of economic viability? Tourism.

Please pray for a lady in the SS class that I teach. Her name is Betty and she was just diagnosed with cancer for the second time. The doctors say that it is terminal and that they are going to treat her for comfort and quality of life. I went to see her today and she is in pretty good spirits and no really in much pain. They haven't said how much time she has yet. She is very courageous. She looked at me today and said without flinching, "Michael, we all have to do this one day," and smiled. She really is a wonderful lady.

A few weeks ago, we were delighted to learn that my daughter is expecting our very first grandchild. Now, at eight weeks, it looks like she might lose the baby.

A week and a half ago, the ultra-sound showed a healthy, adorable baby, but the amniotic fluid looked low. The doctor did an another ultra-sound on Thursday to check how things were progressing, and could no longer detect a heartbeat. She has had intermittent bleeding over the last few days and we are beginning to fear the worst.

We know that miscarriages are very common, but it is still very painful. Please keep my daughter and her husband in your prayers. We are doing our best to give them comfort and support. Their names are Natalie and Matt.

Thanks,
Becky

She is a strong believer and she is only 16. She needs a liver transplant immediately. So far, they have been able to find a liver that matches her. Tonight she will have surgery. Pray that she handles the anesthesia well, that her body doesn't reject the liver, and that she recovers quickly after the surgery.

My request seems so small next to all of these enormous needs, but it is very dear to me. Please pray for my son's safe travel and return as he embarks on his first spring break trip. I pray that, not only will his travels be safe, but that he will behave responsibly and in the decent manner in which he was raised.

I just learned yesterday that one of the most important people in my life has been diagnosed with colon cancer.

She's set for surgery on June 30. She's taking it quite well. I, however, am not. I'm not sure I'm equipped for this. When you love a person as much as I do her, you start to believe that nothing could ever possibly happen to them.

I'm having to shift my paradigm. As it turns out, my grandmother - the woman who raised me and had the single most powerful influence on my life - is vulnerable.

Please pray for her. And pray that I can come to terms with her humanity. Simply imagining my life without her presence and support is almost crippling.

My head knows that the time will come. But my heart refuses to accept it.

Everyone please pray for my father-in-law... he's been admitted back into the hospital. He has had a problem with his foot for decades, due to an auto accident. His bone became infected, and he has been getting treatment for several weeks recently, due to a new infection, which is also in the bone. They're going to operate, and he just needs you to pray for him.

Thank you in advance. May God bless and keep you, by the heart of compassion which you show others. :thumb:He's responded very well to treatment, so MANY thanks to ALL who prayed. Next Thursday he gets operated on for removal of dead portions of bone in his foot. Your prayers are again coveted. Thanks in advance. :thumb:

Thanks. He needs even MORE prayer... he had an incident yesterday, and had to be admitted to the hospital for heart problems. He had an irregular heartbeat... during the night while there: it corrected itself. They did tests yesterday and more today. He's going to need some surgery, as they think there is a clot. Please pray for Bill.

Thanks for your prayers. No heart surgery necessary, and they've now re-scheduled his foot surgery for this Thursday. Please pray God will guide the doctors' and nurses' hands and bring miraculous results. He's so depressed, since he can't walk or go to play music several times a week like he's used to doing. Thanks again, in advance. :wave2:

I've never encountered anything that God has done which I thought was weird. He sometimes confirms things with a second and even third word or other movement. He never seems to show up the same way twice. Even when things get TOO real and it seems He's just messing with me, it never seems creepy or anything like the way things happen with the occult (deja vu or psychic readings). It is a great and terrible thing to fall into The Hands of The Living God.
