Edit by Delmar: I tried a little experiment here because I wanted to keep the quotes in place. I sort of forgot that would make AA's post show up as the opening post.

I suppose.

And do you find that ideal in keeping with the Constitution? Which seeks to limit the powers of government? :idunno:

(that was a loaded question. :chuckle: )

What politician doesn't?

To the degree this one does? None in the history of the United States. Or for that matter, none combined. :plain:

Specifically

Bank of America, Citicorp, AIG, GM, GMAC, Chrysler Financial...among others.

The government is now the majority owner of and dictator of policy for all of the above. And the list is growing.

:squint: Oh wait, you are a neo-con. Unless we are building more bases in foreign countries you aren't happy :plain:

Uh...not exactly. :squint:

I'd settle for not dismantling our existing armaments and keeping suspected terrorists OUT of our country, rather than moving them from detainment outside our borders, to within.

That seem reasonable to you?

If by socialized medicine you mean getting everybody insured, OK
.

By the government. At your expense and mine.

To each according to his need, from each according to his means. This is the essence of socialistic ideal. And I still have yet to hear one good justification for it.

The closest thing I've heard is, "Basic healthcare should be a right afforded to every individual within the borders of a developed nation."

Great. What about housing? Food? Clothing?

They're gonna need a job to pay the bills. We need a government program to ensure that. And they're gonna need transportation to get to the job. We need to ensure every American has adequate transportation.

And they can't live in certain areas of the country without A/C or Heat. We need to make sure every American has electricity and adequate ventilation.

Oh...and shoes. They'll need shoes.

And good hair gel. :plain:

How are we going to pay for all that? :idunno:

We'll figure that out once we pass the bills!
