Christian Leaders Weak on Genesis

This is the show from Thursday May 22nd, 2009.

BEST QUOTE OF THE SHOW:
The story of the flood is not true [according to James Dobson] and the tower of Babel is not true and the creation account is not true so these things are really allegories. They're like parables. And this is what Dr. Dobson presents to millions of Christians. So then you come to God's law. And the same Moses, the law giver, who wrote the book of Genesis also wrote the book of Exodus. And so how seriously do we take God's word if we think it starts out with all allegories and parables. It's almost like mythology.

SUMMARY:

* Environmentalists: Don't Mention Global Warming: Democrats urged to stop talking about global warming. Probably because it's not.

* What of Ministries that Reject Six Days: Leading Christian ministries that reject the Genesis and Exodus accounts that "in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them" (Gen. 1; Ex. 20:11) kick out their own foundation and become moral relativists.

* Today's Resource: Have you browsed through our Science Department in the KGOV Store? Check out Guillermo Gonzalez' Privileged Planet (clip), Illustra Media's Unlocking the Mystery of Life (clip)! You can consider our BEL Science Pack; Bob Enyart's Age of the Earth Debate; Walt Brown's In the Beginning and Bob's interviews with this great scientist in Walt Brown Week; the superb kids' radio programming, Jonathan Park: The Adventure Begins! And Bob strongly recommends that you subscribe to CMI's tremendous Creation magazine!

Thanks Jefferson for posting the BEL shows and highlighting best quotes!

Regarding the above, the reference is to Dr. Dobson's promotion of a creation that occurred over billions of years instead of in six days; and all the rejection of the Genesis account that comes with his support for Hugh Ross and his Reasons to Believe.

Thanks again!

-Bob
