The Anglican Prayer Book order of worship belongs to a bygone era. The emphasis on sin is off key today. The general prayer asking God to bless the Queen, Bishop, Ministers, and fix all problems and heal all diseases etc reflects the view that Church and State are one. How can people today connect with the repetition week after week of this powerless remnant of history?

Are you suggesting that the form of worship was accurate when written and used?

No. It reflects the situation when it was written. It does not reflect the worship instituted by the gospel.

I'm pleased you said that, thanks.

The psalms had a use and a meaning when first written, but after the evangelism was opened in power the psalms took on another meaning and were sung or prayed over with understanding and much rejoicing.
